"How many days until…" and "how long between…" are everyday questions — for project deadlines, notice periods, visa durations, anniversaries, pregnancies, and countdowns. This calculator gives the answer instantly and in several useful forms.

Two ways to see the difference

The tool shows the gap between two dates both as a natural years-months-days breakdown ("2 years, 4 months, 11 days") and as raw totals — total days, total weeks, and approximate months and years. Different tasks need different forms: a contract might care about total days, while an anniversary is better expressed in years and months.

Inclusive vs exclusive counting

One subtlety trips people up constantly: do you count the last day? For a hotel stay you count nights (exclusive of the final day); for the length of an event you often count both the first and last day (inclusive). The "Include the end day" option lets you switch between the two, so you always get the number you actually mean.

Leap years and month lengths

Because the calculation reads the real calendar, February 29 and the differing lengths of months are handled automatically. You never have to remember which months have 30 or 31 days.

Order doesn't matter

Enter the dates in either order — the calculator always reports the absolute difference, so you can't get a negative result by mistake.
