About This Tool
Professional invoicing is essential for freelancers, consultants, and small businesses in Nepal. A clean, accurate invoice projects professionalism, ensures timely payment, and provides a paper trail for tax purposes. This tool generates invoice PDFs entirely in your browser — your financial data never touches a server.
Nepal VAT requirements
For VAT-registered businesses (PAN/VAT number holders), invoices must include: - Business name and PAN/VAT number - Buyer's name and PAN (for B2B transactions above Rs. 10,000) - Invoice number and date - Description, quantity, unit price - Subtotal, VAT (13%), and total - "Tax Invoice" or "Bill" designation
Non-VAT-registered businesses can issue regular invoices without VAT.
Invoice numbering
Use a consistent, sequential invoice numbering system. A common format: `INV-YYYY-NNNN` (e.g., INV-2082-0001). Sequential numbers are required by IRD for proper record-keeping.
Payment terms
Common Nepali business payment terms: - Net 15: payment due within 15 days - Net 30: payment due within 30 days - Upon receipt: immediate payment expected - 50% advance: half on order, half on delivery
Including payment terms on your invoice sets clear expectations and reduces payment delays.
Multi-currency support
For international clients or remittances, invoices can be issued in USD, EUR, GBP, or other currencies. Include the exchange rate and NPR equivalent if required for local accounting records.
